@pencilart3 - Heck no! She's gorgeous!
(when he turned himself into a woman).
Oh my GOODNESS do not even talk about that.
Olaf Hansen and Chi Ho Han were my favorites. Han played a virtually note perfect round. You don't see that often. Ivett Gyongyosi was the most beautiful contestant haha.
I only started watching the competition today! What's happened?First thoughts:- go Cho! go Eric Lu!- Luigi Carrocia is a bit of a wild card, but he could pass...- the Russian sisters (forgot their name) are "nice" but paled in comparison to everyone elseby the way, @AJ and @dogperson I found both Chi Ho Han and Julian to be very "cold" and therefore not particularly appealing... :/
AJ, is there a reason you did not care for Julian?
IX Tchakovsky Competition for Young Musicians
That posts looks like it was intended to open a new can of worms. Good thing AJ closed it. What are the ages for that? There's an I in Tchaikovsky b t w.
born on or after Dec 5 1998.
that's why it was directed at A.J., whom I knew would keep the response to the music, rather than to those on the forum that would take the straight-forward question in a whole different, immature, direction.
That one sounded like a barb.
Who was your favorite performer of today? Mine were Eric Lu and Kate Liu.
Ivett Gyongyosi by far. Rachel Kudo is beautiful too.
Rumor has it though, that she's average in Hungary
How did Aimi Kobayashi play? I didn't see her performance
I don't know why everyone loves her so much. She's a great pianist for sure, but I don't see what's different from her and the other pianists in the competition.
Yeah, she's very good, but there are many pianists I like better, such as Eric Lu, George Li, and Charles Richard Hamelin, to name a few.
OMG George Li improved so much from when he was 14.
Hamelin is such a beast. He just released an album on iTunes
For some reason, that seems to happen quite often.
my favorites so far are (in order) eric lu, julian jia/kate liu, rachel kudo/chi ho han/qi kong. hoping i can be part of this competition in 2020 haha
Hey David, both AJ Long and I are going to try to make it in 2020, maybe we could have a club or something like that. Any other piano street members preparing for 2020?
2020? Man, I hope I agree with most everyone here by the way: Eric Lu & Kate Liu were amazing by far. Excited for Hamelin as well...!
@rubinsteinmad: thanks ) jc when did u hear me play it live?
