It's weird how being female can make you sound so good

I mean, if you listen to that Julian person's 2010 Competition (when he was still a man), its so much worse than the 2015 Competition (when he turned himself into a woman).

Also, I don't think ANYONE is as good as Yeoul Eum Son on the Mozart 21st- simply becahse she has that charm that you males don't have  ;D

Olaf Hansen and Chi Ho Han were my favorites. Han played a virtually note perfect round. You don't see that often. Ivett Gyongyosi was the most beautiful contestant haha.

AJ, is there a reason you did not care for Julian?

Great playing for sure! It just didn't really stick out to me, its all subjective of course! Julian is a wonderful pianist with a lot to offer.

I only started watching the competition today! What's happened?

First thoughts:
- go Cho! go Eric Lu!
- Luigi Carrocia is a bit of a wild card, but he could pass...
- the Russian sisters (forgot their name) are "nice" but paled in comparison to everyone else

by the way, @AJ and @dogperson I found both Chi Ho Han and Julian to be very "cold" and therefore not particularly appealing... :/

By the way, maybe we could discuss the Chopin at the other forum topic dedicated to it (by outin)... this is a much more general topic. -OP

No, the question about Julian was not intended to open up a can of worms, that's why it was directed at A.J., whom I knew would keep the response to the music, rather than to those on the forum that would take the straight-forward question in a whole different, immature, direction. .  I found Julian's performance personally inspiring, and was curious.

Yes, and uncalled for... But, I have to say, the discussion would most definitely be about his hair if it weren't specifically directed at AJ...

I didn't hear Session 1, but for Session 2, my votes go for everyone I actually listened to (Qi Kong, the Marek, the Eric Lu, and the Lucas)

BTW, who are the most attractive competitors?
Mine so far are:
the Witch Lady; Chi Ho Han; Olof Hansen
Out of all the people I actually listened to.

Yeah, she's very good, but there are many pianists I like better, such as Eric Lu, George Li, and Charles Richard Hamelin, to name a few.

But Seong-jin Cho didn't improve nearly as much.
Seong-jin  Cho was WAY too good at age 14, he didn't have much room for improvement. George Li, on the other hand... he was just a j*ke

If u refuse to appreciate the genius of Hansen, fine. He is like another Pogorelich. Except, Hansen's eccentricities help the music, while Pogorelich's destroy the music.
