I usually read reviews, not looking at how many are sold. I don't know though. A bench is important,  it's surprising how many people forget that.

Yep. For the past few weeks I've placed thick blankets on the piano bench to increase height.. not really uncomfortable but not exactly comfortable either :/

I would definitely recommend the acadamy available in vinyl or leather.  I have bought two - one for my Steinway model B and one for my Yamaha digital.

Why?  Well unlike my previous benches they have some excellent cushioning so much more comfortable to sit on for long periods. They are also very liberally buttoned which also helps with the comfort. They are a neat modern design too and easy to raise and lower. Downside is they are expensive but you will be sitting on your bench for long periods of practice - won't you?  ;D
