Pieces to play after Clair de Lune
on: September 03, 2015, 01:01:49 PM
Hi,
I've recently finished Clair De Lune by performing for a competition (though hope to keep on playing it) and am currently stuck on what piece to play next.
I've two pieces in mind, Chopin's Nocturne in C minor Op.48 No1 (though I am finding particular passage tough, with it requiring stretching to a 10th interval) and Mozart's Fantasy in D minor (which I'm not finding too difficult besides the 'presto' runs and various syncopated sections)
So I was wondering if any of you have any pieces of similar or slightly higher difficulty than Clair De Lune to learn, I'm open to any style, though I am interested in exploring nocturnes.
Thanks,
Symphonic

Thanks for the reply,
For the 10ths I was referring to some of the chords in the C major part of the piece, where some of them are not arpeggiated in the score, though my teacher suggested playing them broken up like you suggested
I have had a look at Debussy's Arabesque's, though I think I should take a break from him, seeming I'm also playing his flute piece Syrinx. His two Arabesque's are beautiful.
