Your current classical repertoire
on: September 17, 2015, 09:39:45 PM
What pieces are you comfortable with performing right this instant?  And about what time length is your ready to perform classical repertoire? (pop/chord songs not included)  I find it amazing how international competition competitors have so much repertoire  :o. Well i know they practice a lot but still.

i think this is what you mean:

my rep:

Bach English Suite No.6: Prelude: 7-7:30
Beethoven Sonata Op.14 No.1 First Mov: 6:45-7:20
Chopin Etude Op.10 No.3: 3:45-4:15
Chopin Nocturne Op.55 No.1: 4:00-5:30
Cyril Scott Lotus Land Op.47 No.1: 4-5
I made an account and hadn't used it in a year. Welcome back, kevon.

These competitors , it is their job. I wish I had a job of piano but  I don't I work in engineering and have to do many other things before I can practice at night so basically all I have is at the current moment of practice or trying to get to polished level before my next recital . Then afterwards it just decays bc I am only paying attention to the next piece(s).. RIght now I can perform half speed 10 4 and 10 5
. That's it.
and perhaps Clair de lune and Gradus ad parnassum Doctor .
that is pretty much it.

Hi,

Too much to list, however, apart from what I don't play every day, this is what I in fact DO play every day:

Bach: Partita No. 2 & 4; Art of Fugue, Contrapunctus 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13
Beethoven: Piano Sonatas Nos. 17 and 26; Some bagatelles
Brahms: Some intermezzi
Chopin: Preludes Nos. 4, 6, 8, 10, 14, 16, 19, 23, 24
Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 20 and 24; Piano Sonatas K. 333 and 576
Liszt: Transcendental Studies Nos. 1, 2, 4, 12
Strauss: Burleske in d minor

I think that's it, however, there's much more, it's simply too much too list.

You play all those every day?? Oh, and prove that you can play both Mazeppa and Chasse-neige.

Here's my rep:

Bach's Italian Concerto (complete)
Chopin's preludes 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17.
Chopin's 2nd concerto larghetto movement.
Ginastera's rondo on argentine children's folk tunes.
Chopin's etudes op. 10 no. 5 and op. 25 no. 6
Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata (complete, but on the backburner)

That just about sums it up. I love my rep :)

I made an attempt on 28/8 and 28/24, but decided to save it for next year. Also, I was pretty much complete with the first movement op.111 and 2/1, but i lost both copies and was too lazy to reprint it

Not to mention romantic and post-19 century repertoire, I would be most delighted even if I can ever play Bach's 48 and Beethoven's 32 in professional standard.

Agreed.  Though it is occasionally interesting, if slightly discouraging, read how the younger generation thinks...

In an incomplete answer to the original question, currently performable -- for piano, all the Chopin Nocturnes, all the Schubert Impromptus, all the Sibelius impromptus.  A typical concert program would be three to five Nocturnes and two Schubert impromptus; I use the Sibelius for encores.  For organ, Bach, the eight "little" preludes and fugues and some miscellaneous small things; some Sweelinck; some Dunstable.  Could be worked up again: some of the bigger Bach works and the Orgelbuchlein, then the Franck Chorale Preludes, some Langlais, Alain, Widor (I don't have access to an instrument to play those on at the moment)

we have RIGHTS, dogperson. so even though no one gives a sh!t about bikini sizes, we have the right to post them. just because it's labeled "pianostreet" that doesn't mean it's all piano. seriously, people who spend their time playing and experimenting with piano don't have much of a life
