K8 v K800
on: September 27, 2015, 09:42:42 PM
Hi, just starting to dip my toe in the water in the search for my first acoustic piano. My local store has a limited range but did have a Kawai K8 I liked the sound off and an acceptable price. The newer model (K800) is not available to try but searching online is $6K more expensive. So my question is what sort of difference should I expect between the two models?
Again as I said I am just starting the search but something that bothers me is the few pianos I have tried, grey market Yamaha U1 and U2 and this K8 sound good when playing romantic period classical with the pedal but slightly dead when playing baroque. Could have been the environment with the K8 as it was a carpeted show room but is this a common issue and is there an upright piano better suited for both baroque & romantic periods?
