I'm currently trying to find some pieces to play with a violinist and a cellist at my school. This will be our first time playing together, though we've all been studying music for quite some time.
For reference, some of the pieces we are currently working on individually: the violinist is currently working on a couple of the Paganini caprices, the cellist is working on the Elgar cello concerto, and I'm working on the Mendelssohn piano concerto in g minor.
I've been looking at the Mendelssohn trios, the Beethoven Ghost trio, the Rachmaninoff Trio Elegiaque in g minor, and the violinist mentioned Shostakovich's trios as possibilities as well.
1. Any other suggestions for possible pieces?
2. What are your opinions on the piano part for the Shostakovich trios? I'm not particularly familiar with them

(listened to them a couple times) but any tips or warnings or anything else is welcome.
