I MA SO NVRUS I FGORT HWO TOO SLPEL
Nah. Shishkin's playing was so ridiculously cold.
Okay, stop with your conspiracy theories lol. Cold = cold. That's it. There was nothing elegant about that concerto 1. Tony played beautifully and deserved his spot. Aimi had some crucial mistakes that did her in. Like she shouldn't have played ballade 1. All of them are amazing though. Just accept the facts as facts
Nationality has very little to do with how well or poorly you play. Trifonov is extremely elegant and has a great vibrant sense of color. That's a very mean thing to say about the Canadian winners. Everyone played very well and deserved their place.
For 2020, I'm rooting for Pavel Mikhail Alexei-Aleksandr Konstantinov.
What about me?
No, me rooting for Santiago Lukas Martinez, not Pavel Alexei-Mikhail Aleksandr Konstanitnov anymore. I wanna UNH UNH Donald Trump.
I told you guys from the very beginning that Cho was the winner
None of you are old enough to remember the Cold War and how amazing it was that Van Cliburn won the Tchaikovsky competition at the height of very bad relations between the US and the USSR.to put it in perspectiveimagine if ISIS or ISIL or whatever had a piano competition and an Israeli pianist won it... yeah... it was that big of a deal.Van Cliburn won in a place where everyone thought he was the enemy. For him to even enter showed some serious courage. Whatever you think of his playing... he made his mark in the history of great pianists.
well... I will say.. it seems very unlikely, given what we now know of the Soviet Union's regime--and their devotion to winning for mother Russia and all... that the inner party would have allowed such a win by an American. As a person who was raised to believe that communism was in the same class of evil as Hitler... who was programmed with images of giant mushroom clouds exploding over peaceful US farmlands while listening to the anthem of the Soviet Union (which I always thought was freakin so much better than ours)... and watched movies about teenage boys who defied the Soviet army by hiding in the mountains of enemy occupied Colorado... it doesn't take much to convince me of that..
YASSSS. DOWN WITH COMMUNISTS
now.. our enemies are far less obvious and far less noble.
I hope the competition preparation is going well, AJ.
My teacher just assigned me Rachmaninoff concerto 1, so that's the big project right now. I'm going to order the Chopin Polonaises and Scherzi so I can have all of chopin's music. Then I'll start digging deep into a chopin piece.- AJ
Haha that would be cool! It was more of a recommendation than a " hey you have to play this " - I gladly took the offer because I absolutely love that concerto. And yes it was Josh.-AJ
AJ are you like gone?
Maybe he followed my "Quitting PianoStreet" philosophy... which I've kinda lapsed in. But hey, I lasted for quite long didn't I?
Maybe hes too busy with college applications
AJ COME BACK IVETT JUST JOINED AND SHE WANTS TO PM YOU!that ought to do it
AJ's interest in her stopped when she was eliminated from the Semifinals.
Just been kind of overwhelmed lately with stuff. I'm still here.- AJ
