Conservatories

Hello board,
Did any of you guys, teachers, went to music Conservatories in your youth for studies?
If so, what do you recall from that period of your life? Was it difficult to keep up the level? Too many courses? Not enough? Was it interesting?
I am going to start a masters degree in piano in November, and since I graduated from a Conservatory in my country which haven't the same status quo for conservatories as in the rest of Europe and World probably (Conservatory degrees are not equal to university degrees here, and the general level isn't as high as Conservatories in London, Paris, Vienna, New York, etc..).
Thank you for your time!
