I can't find any recordings out there. It looks very interesting, albeit fantastically difficult.

if i cannot find a recording of something, which is way often given the stuff i like, i set about learning it and recording it. then i have a recording of it. you should play it and get it recorded.

Would that be online? Or like an application for a PC?

PC /laptop application - sorry if I wasn't clear on that. There may even be something for phones / tablets.
Thanks, I'll see what I can do!! Although I don't have sheet music yet either.

Apparently it's from something called "StudienBuch", which is proving very elusive.

As an alternative the Godowsky Chopin Etudes are a lot more well known.
And a lot better, too!

I think there are 4-5 variations on the OP 10 No 5.
There are actually seven - the most that Godowsky ever wrote on a single Chopin study - of which one is for left hand alone.

Best,

Thanks for the correction. I have limited knowledge on these studies as I am a long way from looking at them in a "what the hell let's give it a go" way!
rosenthall (of of my favorites from the 'golden age') did a rad study in thirds on that little Chopin waltz. Think it would compliment the one you posted as an inversion study since that one is littered in 6ths

Josefy did a groovy take on it too
