Well I'm sure that's not the first time you heard that piece.

another worst hour of being on PianoStreet. I'm probably just gonna quit altogether now even though sometimes I legit am excited to see people's replies and write some of my own things about piano (because I have no one else to talk to about it). Guess I just have to resist the urge

That would be desirable by the rest of us.

My short Liszt 😂
Shura Cherkassky: Chopin op.54
Arthur Rubinstein: Liszt Sonata
Glenn Gould: Beethoven op.111
Claudio Arrau: Debussy Clair de lune
Mischa Maisky: Bach cello Suites
Zimmerman: Schubert impromptus
George Gershwin: Gershwin Raphsody in Blue

Sometimes I can only groan and suffer and pour out my despair at the piano.

this. i thought i had heard the two 'definative' performances of this with the Sofronitsky for 'historic/vintage' and volodos for modern, but then i re visited one of my most favorite of all pianists  and found this version made more deeply lovee a piece i thought i could not love any more than i already did. sort of a 'game' changer listen for me and somehow despite being very familiar w Neuhaus recordings, I did not know he had recorded this, and it is sublime
