Hi,  for the Avantgrand N3 or N2 owners out there - is there a  processes to save the reverb and TRS settings on the piano so that when the unit cycles off and on it remembers your setting?

Thanks in advance.

I don't own this piano but in my Kawai, settings that can't be saved on their own can be saved as a Setup and setups can be saved to Start Up. For instance EQ is a live knob you can change it any time and as such it can't be saved as is when the piano is shut down. But it can be included in a Setup parameter. The only thing not savable is an instrument choice in channel 4 and I believe 3 as well. 1 and 2 can be included as a setup. But you remember the button sequence soon enough for common instruments uses anyway. Well I did before changing to external programs for my sounds. Anyway, I believe the Avantgrand also will do Custom Setups, that's where you may want to look to.

If you don't have a manual to the instrument I found one online for the N2 easy enough. You would have to dig past the very short page 23 chapter on reverb though. It doesn't tell you much there. But you can do that stuff, I have my own details to work out LOL ! Here is a link:  https://www.manualslib.com/manual/196239/Yamaha-Avantgrand-N2.html
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

Thank you.  I reviewed the instruction manual again and it seems that the reverb and TRS setting is not saved to the memory when turning off:

"The following data will be saved to internal memory of the instrument. The data is maintained even when the power isturned off.• Metronome volume (page 21)• Fine-tuning of the pitch (page 25)• Character code (page 31)• User song data recorded to the instrument (page 27)"

When I have some time, I'll have to look into your suggested option of reprogramming the piano's software however this seems to be a real silly thing to make owners do...  The reverb and TRS settings are simply too high for my taste.   I would like to set it on default reverb 2 and TRS 1.

In my case it's really not reprogramming, I can do something like 250 setups is all. So I  set up a Concert Grand with everything I like in the concert grand from reverb to tuning style and EQ changes to the supplied Concert grand and save that as a setup, then set it to be the start up instrument.  I changed the Mellow Grand to best duplicate my real grand piano as well. saving these was nothing, hit save in the setup menu is all. Getting to sound as I wanted took several whacks at it. I still have those saved though now I rarely use the on board s0unds but more pianoteq software these days.

But hey that's the Kawai, I don't know a whole lot about your options. You just have to work with it and discover what is doable.

The AvantGrand has no such options for setups. It only has a couple of parameters that you can change and the settings are not remembered. If you want reverb and TRS settings that are different from the defaults, you'll have to change them yourself each time you turn the instrument on.
