Help needed baby grand purchase Yamaha G1
on: December 10, 2015, 04:47:31 AM
Hi there
I've been reading extensively on these forums and am hoping to get some advice. I'm looking to purchase a used small grand in Canada in the $7000-$10000 range for my condo. Ideally something under 5'3
I've looked at a number of instruments but the one that has caught my eye is a Yamaha G1 from 1968 that is for sale at a very reputable local shop. The piano came in on trade and has been repinned, regulated, and the cabinet refinished. It is satin black and looks amazing. The sound board looks like new as do the hammers. I can pick this piano up for approximately $7500 w a 5 year warranty
I've read a number of cautionary tales about older Asian pianos. Should I be concerned here and look for something newer?
Thanks in advance
