Your piano goals for 2016
on: January 01, 2016, 02:32:43 AM
What are your piano goals for 2016?

Mine: to learn some Scott Joplin, and some more Bach, Scarlatti, and Chopin.  Many of the pieces I choose to play are somewhat dark and in a minor key.  Scott Joplin's music may balance that out.  And his music is fun to play!

Another goal: to post at least one piece to the audition room again this year.

To play a Scarlatti sonata to utmost perfection ;)

Oh, and get that grand of course!

Damn, I didn't reach either of those...so I'll just have to stick with them for yet another year...

Generally speaking, to record much more improvisation than I did in 2015, and to widen its expressive range with the invention of new playing forms and new means of idea generation. In other words, much the same objectives I have always had, to create as much as possible of permanent value to myself before my technique sucks the kumara. All things considered, I haven't done too badly to date, and keeping fit and healthy is certainly part of the answer, but I have many musical peccadilloes in the form of lazy working habits.

All very general really, nothing too specific.

Finish the third Ballade at some point.
Oh, and all of repertoire, especially that concerto, and then start on the Mozart D minor concerto
