New Piano Piece by Chopin Discovered – Free Piano Score
A previously unknown manuscript by Frédéric Chopin has been discovered at New York’s Morgan Library and Museum. The handwritten score is titled “Valse” and consists of 24 bars of music in the key of A minor and is considered a major discovery in the wold of classical piano music. Read more >>

Maybe this would be a good alternative on recitals to Johannes Brahms' Variations on a Theme by Paganini [and, quite honestly, I far prefer the Ignaz Friedman work!]?

It is a good thing that it is under performed.  This gives an instant favour to any pianist who wishes to perform this worthy music!

Transcend negativism - be a pragmatist.  ;)

Speaking of which, A.W., Anton Rubinstein's bicentenary is coming up in 2029.  His quantity of piano solo music is voluminous and has a distinct tonal palette.  I am sure that both you and I still will be around then.  Might be something to think about . . . already one can discern a gradual uptick in revived interest toward his music.

I think of him as a great composer.  His 3rd and 4th piano concertos can hold their own with any in the repertoire, and his piano etudes compare in quality with those of Chopin and Liszt - maybe a great deal of music is being strangled by the competition system and its canon of repertoire around which the studies of young performers revolve?

Even if one disagrees with that estimate of An. Rubinstein's music, musicians need to be pragmatists and may want to give the music a fresh look as one can predict an increased interest in the music heading toward 2029 as with Liszt's music heading toward the 2011 bicentenary of Liszt's birth.
