Hi all, I've been playing the piano with a piano teacher for 6 months, but half a year before that I did a lot of dabbling around in piano. With sheer will, I learned Debussy's L'isle Joyeuse before starting piano lessons. I am a college student, so I only take lessons when I go back home. Some pieces I've played these 6 months include:

Rachmaninoff's Preludes in C# and G minor
Rachmaninoff Vocalise (Kocsis arrangement)
some Moskovsky etude which I don't remember the name of
Debussy's Ballade
Debussy's Arabesque 1
Debussy's Clair de Lune
Debussy's L'isle Joyeuse
Beethoven's Sonata #8
Chopin's Aeolian Harp and Revolutionary Etudes
Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu
Liszt Liebestraum no. 3
a couple of other chopin waltzes and nocturnes

I don't really have patience for "easy" pieces, so these are literally all the pieces I've ever played, nothing easier than these.

I think I've been able to play pieces outside my range just because I love them so much. I also already know how to read notes and be musical and scales and arpeggios because I've played the violin for 13 years.

Given my success so far with being able to tackle relatively difficult pieces, do you think I'd be able to play stuff like Jeux D'Eau out of sheer will? What about Ondine? Rachmaninoff piano concerto? Chopin ballades? Liszt's Hungarian rhapsody?

I actually started reading Jeux D'Eau, but after the "easy" section (first 4-5 pages?), progress has been relatively slow, and I'm wondering if I can do the whole thing.

Please let me know what you think!

I'm not trolling, I believe anyone can play anything they want out of sheer will (provided they can already read music and understand music)

No-one here can answer your question until you post some recordings of your success of playing those pieces. The fact that you ask something like this and say you already have a teacher does lower the probability that you have any idea what you are doing. And if you don't have any idea what you are doing, then the answer is most probably no, it's not possible to any decent standard.

Chopin's Aeolian Harp and Revolutionary Etudes

I didn't know there was more "Revolutionary Etudes" than op 10 no 12. Lol maybe I haven't done my research.

Sheer will does not sound competent.

And why I will be optimistic and say anybody can learn anything with the right amount of time, I don't think learning hard pieces just because you like them is a practical approach.

Next to learn all those pieces in just 6 months when it seems you only have a year's worth of experience at the piano, and only 6 months with a teacher.

LOL NO.

GET OUT.

Sheer will?(Sorry, but is this anime?) Even if you have the will, without proper instruction on subtle movements you can make at the piano, you'll almost never be able to render good rendition of advanced piece(s) unless you're liszt reincarnated(in that case please take me as a student.)

But then again, maybe you are a genius. If so, then you should have the answer to your own difficulties.
Yup.. still a beginner. Up til now..

When will a teacher accept me? :/

You have played these after 6 months of playing?

You are either a outstanding musical prodigy or ....
Maybe by saying played - you mean you pushed the notes from the score in various speeds, then I have played through practically every Liszt and Chopins hardest piece, but this was not what I have called playing :)
In progress:
Scriabin: Preludes op 11 nr 6, 10, 17, 1
Rachmaninov: Prelude C# minor
Fibich: Poeme
Mussorgsky: Pictures at Exhibition Promenade, gnome

You don't have the patience for easy pieces but you do have it for 8+ diploma works..? ;D At least try to be a little bit believable.

I'm starting to like this guy... ;D

He's like Batman - a caped crusader who speaks out against injustice.

Only, he doesn't have a cape...

...or cool gadgets...

...and his name isn't Batman... :(

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31.
