Random sonataina I wrote

So today I decided to try composing for the first time. It's not something I'm too interested in, but I thought it might be a fun musical exercise to try imitating other composers (just to try to understand what was probably going through their mind while writing).
Because it's the first time for me doing something like this, I decided to pick something rather simple, so I just tried writing a Mozart-style movement. I improvised this on the piano and later wrote it on the computer (sorry for the horrible MIDI quality by the way).
Have to say this doesn't sound too much like Mozart to me... Or like anything else for that matter (especially that middle D minor part). This was a harder exercise than I thought.
I think the main reason this doesn't sound like Mozart is that Mozart wasn't a Sonatina kind of guy, he wrote full scale sonatas. This piece lacks both the proper structure and development of a Mozart sonata movement (Of course, I won't even go into the fact that Mozart's music was better not because of it's structure but simply because he's just a better composer, because it seems quite obvious).
Anyway, I would like to hear your opinion - what am I missing? How do I make this more "mozartian"? How the hell does he do it?! Any advice would be appreciated. I'd like to do this again sometime with different composers.
Recommend listening while looking at the sheet.

I think you get off to a great start!
When you arrive at the dmin.. (m. 25) although the time signature stays in 4, the pulse is quite obviously 3 - which would be ok if it were 3 measure worth - (some multiple of 4 beats)  …but that pulse continues to m. 60.. so to my ear, it is like a completely different piece, from the context you have started… Also the d min. section is more of a tutti reduction more than something 'pianistic'…  although the chord sequence you employ in this section can be used as a 'development' section.. (and perhaps done with less block chording, or having a counterline...
I suppose you could adjust the phrase length of the dmin. section - (elongate ) or… not.
These are just my first impressions..

I completely agree with you, made some adjustments accordingly (added a link). It sounds better, but still not that "mozartian"... I guess it's just a basic problem with the d minor theme.
