LOL... that was so screwed up... but I was so high from having just been interviewed I didn't care.

acoustic issues, white noise and feedback from the mic dictated the exact position of that piano....  the tech dir tried everything.  short stick, flap down--whatever... that was the sweet spot...  man did it ever mess with my neck trying to sing into the boom mic play and face the audience.   Gonna have to reconfigure some stuff there for the next show--gotta feeling they are going to bring in the A team next time.  
They are already after me to send in my proposal for the next concert...this was more coverage than they have had in a while...  



The dress was my 15 yr old daughter's homecoming dance outfit.  I dropped 30 lbs in the last two months and nothing I had fit.   It was a bangin dress though.    

well now all of you know...if you didn't already... that I am exactly who I say I am... it's says so on the news. LOL  anyone who thought I was downplaying my own performance anxiety--this was my very first concert... there is no fear on my face.


THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! all of you for your well-wishes.   I am so glad that I could share this with you guys.   Not a lot of people I know personally can relate to this kind of thing.   I was no child prodigy pianist... some of you here are far more advanced than I was at your age.  

being a professional pianist (in whatever capacity you so choose) is well within the realm of possibility if you are willing to commit.   the rewards you will receive if you stick with it for decades are indescribable.

I thought you should know...  that was a kawai grand I was playing.  Every time I looked at the name I thought of you...  I was thinking about how you said you felt like a princess in that dress you wore to your recital..   I thought about all of the folks here posting while I was out there playing... funny that PS was actually on my mind while I sat on stage very aware of the blinking red light from the camera that seemed to slice right through the blinding stage lights. btw as far as how I played...believe it or not... I don't remember missing a thing.  My husband didn't give me the evil eye   once the whole night... I don't think that has ever happened.

 I felt amazing... I have not looked this good in years.  I am so glad I went with the heels instead of the flats--I like the shot of my feet.

and it's funny you should mention that video... I was not in a good place then.   In fact my entire life kinda went into total chaos shortly after I posted that... maybe as punishment for that very flawed performance...yikes.   It occurred to me as I walked outside the stage door to be interviewed by the local tv gal just how far I had come from almost that exact day nearly 3 years ago. You are right... I do look way different.. and that's a good thing.  thanks.

Yes I was hoping for audio as well, but at least this does prove a point I make often around here...

how well you play is not the one-and-only single most important aspect of your success as a musician--that's for sure.
