Searching for Guidance...
on: December 29, 2004, 09:00:59 AM
Well i'll make this pretty short and to the point. I'v been saving some funding specifically to get myself a keyboard. Thanks to Christmas and generous relatives and family i finally purchased a cheap little Casio 61-key keyboard and am so THRILLED. I'v been wanting to learn Piano for months now. I used to play the trumpet in band so my music reading skills are still there but to a minimal.  Because im starting college in a couple weeks i wont have the money for private lessons. Im completely down for teaching myself the art, i have no problem putting forth the time and effort (knowing without professional direction it most likely will take me longer to achieve success)...i stumbled across a few "learn piano free" websites with semi-redundant teachings and scattered useful information. (Usually when it starts to get interesting they ask for a membership fee)...anyhoo...i was really just wondering if there was a good beginners packet..with audio and literature to get me on the right foot...or websites with pieces containing beginner elements so that i could build a healthy musical foundation with my keyboard....i would appreciate any information sent my way and admire all you other piano players...

Try the piano and keyboard method from emediamusic https://www.emediamusic.com/pkm.html.  It will be $60 well spent.
