Hi Guys,
I just want to let give you a hint for the asfaik most comprehensive Alban Berg Complete recording of his nonscenic music. including among in total more than 400 mp3's more than 70 pieces of in parts never before heard pianomusic an together 240 compositions with participation of the Piano. (Which are simply way to much to upload them all here again. so please excuse me to point you indirectly to my Website where all the music is already online.)

However: Evryone who did'nt knew any more of Alban Berg than his great Pianosonata op.1 will have the chance to find some more here. Just ad /berg to the URL in my bottomline and you will find the Alban Bergpage.

That's interesting to hear. All I really know by Berg besides Piano Sonata are his two song cycles called "Jugendlieder" 1 and 2, his String Quartet Op. 3 and his Violin Concerto from 1935. I'd love to hear more of his piano music. It's such a shame that so little music is known by him.

There have been considerably more prolific composers, of course, but all of the above was achieved within a short life (like his idol Mahler, he died at age 50).

If the OP knows more, however, this would indeed be of great interest; Berg was indeed a wonderful composer!

Yes, that is Wikipedia's list right? But a lot of that list is not known that much.

Sorry, but I fear I must correct you:

In short your list is defenitly very incomplete.

If you take a look at albanberg.resampled.de you will see, that I simply present there pretty much more compositions not only than have been recorded anywhere before, but even than there are listed in any Alban Berg worklist before.

Let me give you just as an example an rough comparison for the Pianomusic of Alban Berg of which albanberg.resampled.de presents more than 70 items:

your Wikipedialist mentions beside the Sonata op.1 one Variation and just a general hint to the "frühe Klaviermusik" published by a fellow Student of me in the late 90th. (Yes his Edition is really as great as interesting), but as it turned out for me even this first edition of "frühe Klaviermusik" is defenitly not complete leaving for instance large early pianocompositions or later Sketches completly unmentioned at all.

Alltogether be sure albanberg.resampled.de presents hours of music by Alban Berg not even pblished anywhere before. By the way for the Songs or the Choirmusic the difference of your List and the actually existing scores presented at albanberg.resampled.de is even much larger.

And as Martin said, even the music listed there and published in the "Alban Berg Gesamtausgabe" is not at all alreday completly recorded before (as it is from now on at albanberg.resampled.de). Just keep in mind the until now "most complete" compilation of all recorded Alban Berg music presents all together 9 hours of music including already 4 hours for the two operas Wozzek + Lulu. Leaving just 5 hours for all of Bergs other works. albanberg.resampled.de (which currently do not include the operas) presents nevertheless 12 hours of digital audiorealisatzion just for the non-scenic works of Berg what means including up to 7 hours more recorded music of Berg. So if you want to hear the Detail you know where to go now ;D

That why I hope my project might be perhaps of interest for those interested in the music of Alban Berg  ;)

I remember performing the 7 Early Songs with a friend many years ago. The piano writing is a delight to play - pianistically not unlike the Hugo Wolf lieder.
