Hello

does anyone have a tips for some short (1 minute +/-) dramatic pieces, preferably with loud, forte moments. I Love the Scriabins op. 11 stuff but looking for some more.

Scriabin's op.48 the first and last preludes are both very bold epics yet shorter than a minute.

Chopin Etude Op 10 No 4 (around 2 mins, +- 15 secs)
Chopin Etude Op 10 No 12 (2.5 mins according to Richter, usually played in the 2:45 - 3:00 range though)
Chopin Prelude Op 28 No 1 (40 secs)
Chopin Prelude Op 28 No 3 (55 secs)
Chopin Albumblatt (1:20)
Chopin Wiosna (2 mins)
Chopin Galop Marquis (exactly 1 min)
Chopin Two Bourrees (1:10)

You can do a short search in the Piano Street forum to find other topics of the same nature. For example, just a few weeks ago, someone posted nearly the exact same question. FYI both Brahms and Rachmaninoff penned some very dramatic pieces. Start there.
