Just practice the right amount that's conducive to your growth as a musician. Which I doubt is like 8 hours a day for anyone unless you gotta learn a lot of notes really fast.What I do is I divy up my practice sessions to 3-4 increments a day. The more hours I practice the more sessions I have. And I take a nap between every one. And I usually do around 2 a day, occasionally 4 and the only time I go over is if I need to learn a piece FAST. Which is a nightmare I don't encourage that. So it's completely personalAs far as the rest of the syllabus goes, throw that whole idea out the window. Just learn whatever you want. There is no such syllabus track for getting into Juilliard. Even people who go there don't do things like that.
