PIANO TEACHER'S uniform
on: May 18, 2016, 03:55:50 AM
Hello everyone,

I have recently started working at a small music school full-time and I'm required to wear a polo shirt with the school's name written in huge fonts on my back every day. I don't know if it's just me...but I feel embarrassed...I don't think it shows any professionalism. What do you think?
Currently working on:

Bach - P&F in C# Major, BWV 872, Book II
Haydn - Sonata No.60 in C Major, Hob. XVI 50
Mendelssohn - Variations Serieuses
Debussy - Reflets dans l'eau
Ravel - Jeux d'eau

Yeah I would feel weird too. Maybe its so they can identify you as a teacher and not some stranger who has walked onto school grounds. Do all the teachers have to wear it? Usually a name tag to pin to your shirt is enough.

Yeah. The receptionist at the counter and teachers have to wear this polo shirt...and to think that I have to wear this most of the time in public transport every day...lunch break and all. Not to be offensive, but when I wear it, I feel like a salesperson or those workers at the gas station rather than a teacher :'/

Haven't seen that before at a music school in my city.  It is usually just business dress, if there is a dress code.  Maybe a t-shirt for everyone to wear at public performances so a bunch of singing students look like a school on stage.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

My piano teacher wore a house dress.  Skirt was below the knee.  Full collar usually.
No brand visible.  Obviously this wasn't recent.  Oh, I miss the fifties.
