what kind of finish is the piano?  I assume it's something with lots of whirls.  Hey, it could just be a coincidence..

well i don't know if that statement of the faces being creepy is entirely justified with the information you have now and you're probably transposing your initial impression of the evp being creepy into this faces in a piano thing.

in any case, since there are four pictures and the company ,called "the DONG IL co", is probably named after its four founders, it's almost 100% that those 4 faces are the faces of the four founders. and since they're all the same face, they probably met each other at a community forum and they were like "wahoa!! hoa! waahaah!" and one of them raised his thumb in the air as if he accomplished something awesome but the truth was that they all accompliashed something awesome.

I typed in  DONG IL  co  into Yahoo search, and it yielded several results.  I don't have time now to look at all of them, but from what I can gather, it's either an industrial or pharmaceutical company from Korea that is based in the state of Illinois (IL) in the US.  Maybe you could type those exact same words into Yahoo search (or any search) and see what you can make of it.

Are you sure it's not dong bei?

Nope, sorry, but your mysterious face is actually only a psuedo-pianist called Maksim. Thats exactly what he looks like on bad days.

My sister as a rosewood sideboard that has similar "faces" in it.  I sometimes think the cabinet makers match up the grain this way on purpose to produce these "faces" -- it's probably just a bit of cabinet maker whimsy.

And I used to have an electric organ which looked like there was the face of an evil looking creature on the music stand.  :o

We haven't got it anymore though.
