Who here has tattoos???
on: July 27, 2016, 09:12:27 PM
I just got two recently and I'm super hyped.  I'll probably get more

Sorry Outin but I don't think you'll like where I got one of them

Getting tattoos of the main themes from the four Chopin Ballades would be fun.

They look good for a few months and utterly stupid for however long you live.

Like the old one about the doctor who told the nurse the patient had the tattoo "SWAN". After the examination, the nurse informed the doctor he was wrong, and it was actually "SASKATCHEWAN".

No, I have never fancied a tattoo, for much the same reason I cannot see any point in rings and jewellery; I don't like drawing attention to myself.  Some of the older, colourful ones are clever, but all that messy blue stuff on the legs I often see around here just resembles varicose veins or some sort of grotesque birthmark.

Had you had the equivalent passage from Sorabji's piano transcription of the closing scene from Richard Strauss's opera Salome (by far the finest of his piano transcriptions, incidentally) tattooed instead, you'd have needed an arm long enough to go around a couple of dozen Valentina Lisitsas with more to spare!

Haha! Though the ondine is really cool! What a terribly amazing and mysterious first measure of music!

You're free to draw pictures on your forearms, I don't need them, mine are fine. Just don't mess with those hands.

But you really should have asked someone who can draw... I first though the second one was a badly drawn animal, seal or something ;D

I have 4, but just one photo. I told the artist I wanted a treble clef that looked as if H.R. Giger designed it:

I have a medieval dragon that I want replaced with a Gigeresque bass clef. Soon...

I'd like to get a few, maybe.
As I'm not 18, I have to wait. In the mean time, I can look and be jealous, haha.
Though I'd never get a tattoo I couldn't conceal.

*Bob pictures someone getting music notation as a tattoo and later discovering the tattoo artist used perfect fifths because they don't understand music theory.*
