14 new pieces for piano solo
on: August 13, 2016, 12:58:18 PM
Hi! My name is André van Haren from The Netherlands, living in Sweden since 2003.

I have written a piano solo album titled "Moments", containing 14 character pieces, and thought it would be nice to promote them on this website. You can hear recordings of all the 14 pieces here:

best wishes,
André

Hi Andre
I found your compositions to be excellent, and in fact, have purchased  the set.

Hi! I am so glad to hear that. I have worked many years on them, fine tuning them where needed to get them as pianistically and musically as possible. Thanks so much for buying the bundle.

best wishes,
André

I just had to listen too as dogperson recommended.
I'm pretty impressed not only by your musical knowledge and skill you have developed foundationally as a Bona fide composer but expression wise it has really touched me a few of these pieces. These are really well thought out and intricately composed and emotionally driven. I really do like these a lot.
Well done!  And I don't say it often here towards composers or what have you. Actually never. This was first time !

Great work andreasvanharen you just need them recorded by a real piano now I'm sure it would sound even better.

I might add that the set is a bargain at $5 for the entire set.

Andre, I snooped around your site and found that the you have the set as duets as well with  a variety of instruments...  as my piano teacher is a flutist, I think I have another purchase in my future, as these were a great arrangement.

Thanks so much for posting the information about these!  There are several that I will even add to my church prelude repertoire.   :)

Yes, I agree with that. I am not in the position right now to make professional recordings though (life circumstances...), so this is the best I could do for now. I would love them to be used on performances and I mailed some pianists who give concerts here in the city, but I didn't hear anything back from them yet. I am sure they have a very full repertoire already.

Yes, I started to make different arrangements of the piano pieces at some point, because I got requests from musicians asking me if I could make a version for their instrument. I even wrote a version for string orchestra from "After work, late at Night" (the 1st piano piece in the bundle) which was performed by an orchestra in Washington (The Octave Chamber Orchestra). At some point I had so many versions that I decided to make the set complete for all of them.

I am so happy to hear that you like them, and as for church, did you see the vocal works? :)

thanks so much for your interest in my music, DP.

best wishes,
André

Hi, I just realized that I titled this topic "14 piano pieces", but the piano bundle has only 13 pieces, sorry about that. It's because the arrangements I made for duo later on do have 14, there's one extra piece that I didn't write for piano originally.
