Google DeepMind plays piano
on: September 09, 2016, 02:08:08 PM
I was reading this rather interesting article on how google are trying to revolutionize text-to-speech
by making the the model (WaveNet) mimic the human voice.
Some of the WaveNet examples were quite convincing and I couldn't help but think what this could do to piano and midi. Low and behold, at the bottom of the article - under the title "Making Music" - they have trained the same engine to improvise classical piano music on its own.
Who knows what this could lead to in a few years :-)
