Trills
on: October 23, 2016, 10:06:13 AM
Hi everyone

Can you please give me some advice for how to get better at trills? I find I get "stuck" easily which really frustrating. Even if it's a short trill (5 notes only) I have this problem.

However, if I alternate fingers when trilling it is much better, but I want to be able to trill just using two fingers.

Thanks!

Here are my suggestions about trills and a couple of good YouTube tutorial links:

- Trills are generally easier with non-adjacent fingers:  1-3, 2-4
- Not sure what is your reference to 'stuck'?  but practice slowly-- just a couple of notes, and then add more.  Do the same with speed:  increase as you become more proficient.
- Keep fingers rounded: it gives you more control
