If you start from nothing, and you need a method, I recommand you the Michael Aaron method. It is effective, you can progress quick - if you practice well - and it does not have the problems of other methods (fingerings all over that stop you from learning the notes, hand position oriented approach to the piano that destroys a good understanding of music reading...).

Look at Alfred's Adult basic book. Try to find a teacher as soon as you can, it is near impossible to make progress with out a teacher. Are you near a college? You could find a student to teach you for near to nothing.

From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
