Concerto Competition Advice

The university that I'm studying at has a Concerto competition for all instruments, and the winners get to play their pieces with the school orchestra. I'm thinking of entering next year, and I've already started learning Chopin's concerto in e minor (I'm about 3 pages in). However, after reading all the negativity online about Chopin's orchestration, could playing a Chopin concerto put me at some sort of disadvantage?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid. That Chopin concerto is my favorite concerto and it fits under my hands really well.

Play whatever you think showcases your strengths well but also makes you stand put.

Me, i would probably do Kabalevsky no 3, as it is my moat favorite concerto of all time, and ita not played as much by older pianists


And if that were off the table and the conductor could pull strings and get.orchestra parts, Taktakishvilli no 1 deserves more stage play. Definitely
