campanella
on: January 12, 2005, 03:08:56 AM
ok well i started this sexy beast a couple of months... and it's going pretty well... already have it all the way up to 2min... the problem is dat even tho i play the main theme almost perfectly... i hit the high note most of the time and all... and i can even do the 2 repitions of the main theme right before the 2 minute mark.. its the part in between that i have a problem with... u know when it goes 'do#-si-la#-si-fa#-fa#++' all the rest of that until those 2 repetitions of the theme... its pretty weird because my teacher said i would like that part and have problems with the rest... i dont get it! i cant hit the high note because im too busy looking in the middle of the action so my periferal vision doesnt see that high note well... especially with the FA#'s and then the LA#'s
Do you have any advice on this? also, considering i have the rest of it more or less well, and this is getting there... do you think ill be able to finish the piece?

Never played it and don't intend to, sorry.  I start to dislike pieces when they become "trendy."

Hey, Tony, that is great. Completely irrelevant, but thanks for sharing.

Your recording is quite good.  What are you working on now?

That's a hard piece (espectially with my tiny hands).
How do you record your music and put it in the computer????

It's important that you find them yourself. No one can help you but yourself.

Sounds like you've got the right idea already -- look before you leap.  Practice slow, your eyes should anticipate where your fingers are going to land.  Once you're used to glancing ahead at the right spots on the keyboard those jumps should be easier to hit.

Liszt is way easier for me if the left hand is solid.  You don't want to be distracted by the accompaniment.
