will i be able to get in playing Beethoven Op. 49 and Bach inventions or should I try to do harder pieces like tempest and WTC Fugues?

'Harder' does not always mean better.

Many experienced musicians/teachers would rather work with a student who plays something simple well, highlighting their potential, rather than a musician who is overly ambitious, selecting more challenging repertoire that is perhaps beyond them; that is a sloppy or lacking performance.

If you meet the regulations and entry requirements, it comes down to how you play, not, what you play.

Obviously, if you can play more challenging repertoire with aplomb, by all means go for it.
