Hi! I'm auditioning next May to a bunch of universities (for Undergraduate) and I'd like to know your opinion on the program. I know they say "anything can be ok for an audition, as long as you play it well" And, while that may be true, I think certainly having a different program as everyone else's might be a little advantage, especially because I'm from Perú, and would like to stand out from the rest with Latinamerican/Spanish music. However, I'm panicking about the balance of the pieces, maybe I'm overthinking it? Anyway here it is:

-Bach Prelude and Fuge no. 24, WTC II, BWV 893
-Beethoven Sonata no. 16, op.31 no.1
-Granados 8 Valses Poéticos
-Ginastera Sonata 1, Op. 22
-Rachmaninov, Etude Tableaux op.39 no.1

I will really appreciate  your opinions and any suggestions you have! Thank you!
Learning
-Mozart k.311.
-Bach P&F 17 BWV 862.
-Prokofiev Romeo & Juliet suite(complete).
-Chopin 4 ballades.
-Chopin Grande Valse Brillante op.18

All great choices. Varied, to be sure, but if you can play those pieces well, you'll blow them away at your audition.

Knock 'em dead!

It is a safe and solid lineup.  I personally would like to have seen something by Manuel Ponce, Carlos Chaves, Tereaa Carreno,  Francisco Mignone, etc but its a good line up.
I might also consider a Clementi sonata , but your program checks all the right basic boxes, my siggestions are just based on personal tastes etc

chopinlover01: Thank you for your encouraging words. You gave me confidence in my program!

visitor: I've heard many pieces of Ponce (I love his Prelude and Fugue on a theme of Händel!!) and Carreño, but at the end I wasn't fond enough of any of those works, and I decided to play the Valses Poéticos, as it's a work I like very, very much :) . As for the Clementi, i would've liked to play Clementi or Schubert, also, but they asked specifically for Beethoven, Mozart or Haydn  :-\.

Thank you both again for your replies  :) :) :) !!!
