Repertoire Suggestions
on: February 28, 2017, 10:21:06 AM
Hi guys! Look for for repertoire suggestions. I just completed the following pieces:

Bach -  Toccata in E minor BWV 914
Scriabin -  Etude Op 8 No 12
Chopin - Etude Op 12 No 10
I am currently working on Chopin's Prelude No 16.

I am open to any suggestions of any era - maybe a slight preference for a large scale work (from the Romantic/Russian 20th C era, like a sonata or suite or something), and I do prefer something in standard repertory.

Potential candidates include:
Bach - Keyboard Partita No. 2
Bach-Busoni - Chaconne in D minor (will definitely pose a major challenge  :o)
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Prokofiev - Suggestion Diabolique
Prokofiev - One of the sonatas? Maybe the 3rd?
Ravel - Sonatine
Rachmaninov - something?

As I say, I am open to any suggestions and I do keep an open mind in this matter.
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata

Hard not to love this, but i am a due Scriabinist and the curcle he influences at heart so things leaning towards his middle period i think are extra groovy
Single movement sonatas and fantasies should get more love
