Thank you for your analysis, which is very enjoyable, as always. The importance of constantly inventing fresh playing forms to keep interest alive in improvisation came across as the main message. I rather like the set of recordings he made at a private party at Heindorf's house in the fifties. These were issued by Verve as a two CD set some years ago. His playing in private, background noise notwithstanding, has a more thoughtful, less pressured quality than that of his professional recordings, or so it seems to me. His version of Danny Boy is particularly impressive.
