Debussy Preludes 3,7,17 Recording
on: April 13, 2017, 06:01:05 PM
Hello, everyone. Recently, just a few days ago, I recorded myself playing a selection of Debussy preludes - no3 le vent dans la plaine, no7 Ce qu'a vu le vent d'ouest, no17-Bruyeres - for preparation for an upcoming concert on a very nice Steinway Concert D grand. As these pieces are not completely ready yet there are a few technical errors here and there (especially beginning of Bruyeres and in 'thunder section' of no3). However, I am only 14 so please don't be too harsh, I am working very hard to improve my finger and arm ability. All comments and feedback appreciated.
Note: the attached pieces are in the order 3-17-7.

Very impressive, rich colour and texture of challenging pieces. Great for someone so young to understand the complexities of impressionist Music, I think it would have been far over my head at 14! Well done!

Damn, playing such mature pieces at such a young age - I'm impressed! And I always enjoy your recordings.
Bruyeres sounds great - really rich and smooth. I think maybe you should play the middle part a bit slower, enjoy it more. The ending is really calm and beautiful
Ce qu'a vu le vent d'ouest and le vent dans la plaine must be a nightmare to learn - they're so difficult! The stormy sections are still a bit rough, but I can tell that you put a lot of thought and energy into figuring out how you want to express the pieces. Overall I'd say a pretty good job - keep going at it and I bet it'll sound great at the concert!
BTW, I think you have a small reading mistake near the end, at the section marked "Serrez et augmenetez" in no. 7 - as far as I know you should play a G-sharp, not a G-natural.
Best of luck!
