Fantasia by me
on: April 23, 2017, 03:59:04 AM
Can someone give me a little feedback on this composition? It's titled Fantasie, for lack of a better title. The recording is synthesized, so it's nowhere near as good as if I was actually playing it (though I plan to learn it over the summer when I have lots of time to practice ;) ).
It's taken inspiration from so many composers it's not even funny--Mozart's Fantasie in C minor (though the influence is faint, perhaps you may find a similar structure), Schubert's Wander and Fantasie in F minor (four hands), Schumann's Fantasie, Chopin's Ballades, Liszt's Sonata in B minor, and Ravel's Le Tombeau le Couperin, to name (not really) a few. It's the first in what I hope will be an album of three or four pieces titled Fantasie Romantique (they will probably go Fantasie, Intermezzo, Waltz/Scherzo, and Toccata).
Practicing:
Bach Chromatic Fantasie and Fugue
Beethoven Sonata Op. 10 No. 1
Shostakovich Preludes Op. 34
Scriabin Etude Op. 2 No. 1
Liszt Fantasie and Fugue on BACH
