Topic: TE 10 vs Scriabin 42 n5 (Read 2364 times)

Hey yall,

Which of these two would you recommend to learn to me first?

Which one is more formative for emerging pianist?

I will be learning Les Adieux sonata, Bach E minor Toccata, Liszt RH 6. I also want one of these etudes possibly if not something else by Rachmaninoff or Chopin, which I currently play.

Current rep is Prokofiev 3rd sonata
Bach WTC 20 b2. am
Haydn b minor sonata
Chopin op10 1,2

If you can play one, you can and should just learn them both concurrently. Not sure why has to be one or the other. Both is best

The Scriabin is significantly less demanding, other than the cloud of notes on page 2.

I'd be inclined to play the one that people play the least so probably the Scriabin.

Both are challenging, both are good music, and both will pay dividends in many ways . . .play whichever one moves you more.
