Gaspard de la Nuit
on: May 13, 2017, 05:50:11 AM
So the youtube videos are the ones I did in the winter for my prescreenings for grad school

Ondine

Le Gibet

The links attached to this post are live recordings from a recital I did in Chicago.  I have another live recording of my senior recital but there's a spot where I missed ALL the notes in both hands in the Scarbo so I'm not gonna post that lol.  When I get those recordings I might post the Le Gibet because I think I did that one REALLY well.

For the attachments, only the Ondine is edited for acoustics and balance and stuff.  The other two are completely raw.

There's mistakes in all the recordings but I've come to learn not to give a sh*t.  Well I do give a sh*t, but as long as I can capture the character of the music then I'm doing alright.

That's impressive. Sure there were a few untidinesses in Scarbo, but it was pretty exciting too. Takes guts to play pieces like that in public.

Well, now I know what you look like.

I don't know these pieces very well, but I think you played beautifully. I particularly loved how you were able to bring out the bell sound in Le Gibet.
