Henle's difficulty levels & la campanella

Which level do you think La campanella is according to Henle's difficulty levels?
My repertoire is: Chopin: nocturne op 48 n 1, etudes: op 10 n 12 & op 25 11, 12, 1, 7, fantaisie-impromptu, Beethoven: moonlight (whole), pathetique, tempest (whole) & the 3rd sonata 1st mov, Rachmaninoff: moment musical op 16 n 4 & prelude c sharp minor, Grieg concerto.
Should I give it a try?

In all seriousness you should just give it a shot.It should be around the same level as his concert etudes lvl 7/8.

To be fair, Liszt really wrote to my strengths, and I've never done anything but casually look at this piece but I honestly don't understand why la Campanella is considered so difficult. It's not easy by any means, but in the grand scheme of Liszt, it's not so bad.
Also, Henle rankings are kind of pointless to be honest. Everything is relative. For me Chopin opus 10 no 1 which is an 8 or 9 on Henle, was far easier for me to play than some of the Bach I've worked out that ranks between a 4-6.

If you can handle Chopin opus 25 no 11 with any real facility I'd say you can handle La Campanella. Opus 25 no 11 is an absolute monster in my mind. If you really struggle with leaps and Liszt-esque writing, then maybe it will be hard, but if it's not at least a little difficult I don't know that you're doing this whole piano thing right.

Why not give a try. However, when you encounter technical difficulties which you are not quite ready to solve, you better find professional guidance. This, may include, drops La Campanella for a while and learn some other works and techniques, before returning to finish it.

^Yes! I'm assuming you have a teacher? Without a teacher I think it's hard to get a firm grasp on technical works like La Campanella because it is demanding enough to keep you from hearing things a teacher would hear and be able to guide you through fixing.

It depends. Some people play La Campanella like it’s just a warmup for their fingers, while others spend weeks learning one single page.

If you play op 25 no 11, La Campanella is still more difficult, but i suggest you try it.

after all, people write a LOT of paganini-themed pieces...

-Its actually a very easy piece. Just two chords Gm# and D# in the left hand and a stupid little tinkle in the right. Not much music

i thought that la campanella was at least a henle 8 but looking on the website it rates hungarian rhapsody 2 as an 8, which is definitely a harder piece. it's probably around a 7/8 but that's hard to believe too because un sospiro is a 7/8 and i consider that a much easier piece to learn. anyways you could probably learn this based on the stuff you already know (the henle rating for 25/11 is a 9!)
