Getting back into piano too, but harder
on: January 15, 2005, 05:38:27 AM
hi everyone, I played piano from about the age of 7-15 (I am now 17), never doing very well. I got lazy and never learned how to read the sheets (all I did was write in the keys and eventually just memorize the piece). Right now I want to pick up playing just for enjoyment. I fell in love with Ballade Pour Adeline and Mariage D'Amour. I'm practicing some of my old songs and find that my fingers aren't strong as they used to be. So my questions are:
what are some drills (scales or something else) that will help strengthen my fingers and get me accustom to playing better.
I tried playing these songs a few years ago and they just didn't sound the same (was it due to the weakness of my skills back then?)
how do I learn to play these?
anyone who has taken the trouble to read all of that I greatly appreciate it, thank you.
