Is it possible to ignore posts by particular users???

Just curious - there are maybe 1 or 2 users (who I shall not name) who I'd rather not hear from.

I suppose it's not possible to have an ignore list, and if that someone posts a message, it clearly says 'You've chosen to ignore this persons posts'

Sorry, but there's a particular person who seems to somehow use this thread to post the one and only video he's proud of, and everyone else seems rather sick of it.

His repeated doing of this is just hijacking some threads now...

Unfortunately, there is not an ignore button.
I would suggest that we report all such self-advertising  posts to Nils.

It is sort of annoying, isn't it?  But I get by by simply not bothering to read anything by those few people (I dare say I have pretty much the same list as you do, perfect_pitch!).  I just scroll on by.

In a way I have to admit I feel sort of sad for them, as I do scroll on by -- and if they ever had something interesting or worth while to say, I'd miss it.  But that's their problem, not mine!

This forum has always had its characters. The main thing I notice about the present crop is that they take themselves more seriously than those of a decade ago. Even Susan and K (before she went funny) could laugh at themselves. This deadly seriousness is a bit ridiculous isn't it ? I don't think any of us is going to set the musical world on fire. If I want to ignore a post I just do so, simply do not respond, I don't need a computer function to do it for me.

Its been posted a few times this request, one member (davidjosepha) offered a solution if you want to program yourself the function on your computer, but I guess it would only work on the system that has the code unfortunately.
