B) the poster is apparently playing out of songbooks
C) you might not really have explained well what you mean.
For the poster: it is a custom on this forum to call any piece of music a piece, but reserve the term "song" for those pieces that have words.
Now a question for you purists: I play the vocalises of Bordogni fairly often. These are vocal works, but they have no words. Am I allowed to call them songs? I'm torn. What to do, what to do. I feel an overpowering urge to clap between movements coming on.
