iPhone Ceiling mount...
on: December 20, 2017, 05:21:08 AM
Greetings... As fellow piano players, how many of you have managed to find a decent cradle for your iPhone that you can hang or mount on the ceiling, to record the keys from above???

I'd like to try and aim for a view similar to this:

(Please Note: The video is from BachScholar... I know he's not the favourite of a lot of people, myself included, but the image at least lets you see what I'm after.)

I'm thinking maybe about going after something similar to this:

And then mounting it to the ceiling. As long as it grips the iphone on all 4 corners well and it doesn't slip out - this might work??? Thoughts, suggestions?

Did see this (https://skyfloatx.com/) but a number of reviews have NOT recommended it due to the actual delivered product being far inferior to the one advertised on the web-site.

Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E64WLS4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1513777230&sr=1-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=overhead+camera+mount&psc=1

I've only done sideways wall-mounted view: this was with a gopro attached to the wall with some sort of super sticky mini velcro. I wasn't doing the filming so I don't have full details.

Cool.  I don't have a link, but I started a similar thread and lots of people had good advice about tripods.

I've kind of decided that, if I ever get around to it, just shooting from the side à la Shirley Kirsten's videos on her blog is an easy solution.

But, then again, it's not a priority for me to be fooling around with sound and gadgets right now.

The more videos I've seen, the more I think that pretty much everyone is using a tripod of some sort, rather than dangling from the ceiling.  Could be wrong.

I've got a tripod and I currently phone from the side, as well as above the piano from behind so you can see the hammers.

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
