on: January 04, 2018, 03:31:16 PM
Had to post as no one else I know plays piano and is remotely interested,  plus my teacher is on holiday for a month.  :D

Well I just got tickets to see MARTHA ARGERICH by chance when I am on holiday in Valencia..! Leave tomorrow..oh my goodness I am sooo excited! She is my all time favourite, my hero..can’t wait. I’ll probably cry when I see her. (my husband thinks I’m nuts.) .hahaha but I just think she is amazing. I never thought i’d get to see her. anyway just thought i’d share with fellow pianists.   ;D

;D I sure can relate!, out of my friends and acquaintances, only 1 of them could possibly give a damn if I told them I'm going to a concert where they'll play, say, Shostakovich's 7th, or a couple of the good ole Bach concertos for more than one harpsichord.

Congrats on getting those tickets, and happy listening!  ;)

Enjoy! I am lucky to be friends with my own personal "piano hero" but there are many others of course, that I want to hear. Barenboim came to my country last year, I really wanted to hear him live - I mean, who knows, could be my only chance ever - but the only tickets left were lousy seats and ridiculously expensive too.

So, I have heard many famous names play in concert, but never Argerich, unfortunately. I wish you a wonderful evening.
