improving note reading
on: January 19, 2005, 05:14:22 AM
let's say i sight read one short piece every day... right now a 2 minute chopin mazurka takes me at least an hour to get through... so do you think that if i just played through a piece without actually learning it, but just playing the notes and then leaving it... if i do that, will i improve my note reading and the speed at which i sight read pretty fast?

Perhaps I should just point out, this is infact the Repertoire board and this is a question which belongs in the Student's Corner. Try searching for Sight-reading or note recognition. You're sure to gleam results from this most comprehensive forum.

Ash.
