I'm curious, what is some music that was written specifically for the automatic player piano, the kind that is impossible for humans to play and the kind that pushes the limits of these pianos? The predecessor of "black MIDI", if you will.

My criterion is that it has to be playable on an actual player piano, because some of the "black MIDI" you find online is certainly not playable like that (e.g.
). I'm looking for something more along the lines of
or
(though they don't necessarily have to be from that time period). Bonus points if you can post recordings of an actual player piano playing them. The more over-the-top, the better.

Nancarrow is the only composer who's taken even vaguely seriously.

But it's pretty stupid music, IMO.  The 'Tango?' is alright.

Looking at these stupid weeaboo white kids talk about black midi "composers" and how Nancarrow was a "steampunk black midi composer" makes me puke.

Or like, this crap:

What could these people even think that they know about the Mandelbrot Set?
