Hi
I am learning this piece too now but I am in an advanced stage. I chose to handle the 3 for 4 naturally and not mathematically.
There are some tips to handle this. The poly rhythm is harder to handle when playing slowly. This doesn't mean that you must exercise it at high speed.
First you need to enter in your muscle memory every single notes. This work can only be achieved by exercising hands separately. The right hand AND the left hand must be learned this way. This is the first step and it can take several days or weeks depending your level.
The left hand must be learned until it is played in the most relaxed and natural way possible. Transitions between each chords must be worked a lot. Some transition are very easy and you don't need to loose your time with them. some are more subtle or even difficult. Like when the hand must jump to reach the 1st note of the next chord.
A huge work on the left hand will make the poly rhythm a lot more easy to perform and more fluid.
The right hand is just a serie of notes played one by one, it is in fact very easy once put in the muscle memory.
It is important to feel and know when the left hand and right hand press the keyboard at the same time. It occurs every 4 notes for the right hand, and of course every 3 notes for the left hands. It gives you anchor points on which you can rely.
I strongly suggest to
not overthinking the poly rhythm
. Just concentrate to put the notes in your muscle memories and play them each hand the more relaxed way possible.
After a while, it will come naturally and you will be amazed at how both your hands easily move alone.
Like many others on the forum, I think the difficulty of this piece is highly over rated. When well located in the muscly memory, it is a piece of cake. At least to play the notes LoL
