Hi everyone,

I hope you have all been well. For those of you who still remember me, I am still pursuing a career in music as relentlessly as I was a couple of years ago when I first started posting here. I haven't been active at all, as school has been very busy for me. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy this recording of my performance at my college's honors recital last month. :) -

Best,

AJ

Sounds great AJ.  I’ve been listening to all the Scarlatti 555 (Scott Ross harpsichord and new Naxos piano recordings). The Schuman/Liszt has always been an absolute favorite of mine.  Very enjoyable to hear your live performance!  Congratulations. :)

I love Schumann and Liszt both.  So this is a home run for me.  I'm sure you were anxious for my opinion.  ;)

@georgey - Thanks so much for your kind words! I appreciate you listening to my performance. :)

@mjames - I think even Schumann haters love this song.  :D

Very nice performance. Bravo!

I'm particularly impressed by your trills. How do you get them that good?

Nice playing. I'd prefer the Scarlatti to be slightly more limpid, but I'm not convinced modern Steinways are ideal for this. Good maintenance of the line in the Widmung, not always easy to do in this sort of thing when Liszt ups the ornamental / accompanimental ante.

It's kinda OT, but Liszt does the best with what he's given  ;D

@ronde_des_sylphes - Thanks so much for your comments, Andrew! Especially on the Schumann/Liszt since I know how familiar you are with the transcription repertoire. Took a lot of work to get the voicing right on that one... I hope you have been well. :)

@clouseau - Thank you very much! I practice trills by using an added note technique. I'll practice doing them as three note trills, then four note when three feel comfortable, and so on and so forth. his ensures I feel free and without tension at every difficulty level of trill. Hope this helps somewhat.

Best,

AJ
