I'm sure most people on this forum can play more than one instrument. It's just a matter of the degree of mastery. I think I can play piano and violin decently. But, I know how to play other instruments like cello, trupet, tuba......and so on....

really don't have the time for any other instruments ::)

I don't focus on anything else than piano... it's hard to get the time. I do have a clarinet but I'm selftaught and I've had it for a year so I don't play that good. I understand the instrument, but I don't have the technique or time to practice.
I also play some guitar, and since I can play guitar I can play some bass too :) But that's it.

I play three instruments: Piano, Violin and Organ.  But the last two I don't play very well at all, piano is my instrument.

Piano and percussion.  You can't find many drummers that can read note music, as opposed to rhythm music.

Back in high school band, I always got the bells, xylophone, and tympani parts because I could read note music. My fondest high school music memories though, are playing piano in the school muscials and being the rehersal pianist, basically being the school piano player.

I play piano and organ andi sing altough i dont think the last one counts , but I do think that its important for a pianist to be able to play a bit of organ , you`d be suprised to see how much u can learn from the organ wich you can also aply on the piano

Piano and some intermediate violin.  I'm better at the piano because my parents made me start with that.  But I would have started on the violin if I had my way...

I play piano and organ with equal facility, and also play electronic keyboards and the harmonium.  I have played guitar in the past, and have made semi-serious efforts with several semi-serious instruments, like banjo, harmonica, recorder, and tin whistle.  I also played accordion for a brief time.

A degree of piano proficiency is useful for those who pursue mastery in another instrument, because piano is such a useful instrument for rehearsal, composition, and accompaniment.  The converse isn't necessarily true.  If your musical goal is mastery of the piano, and you are well along towards achieving that goal, there is little purpose in learning, say, the clarinet.

Most of my experimentation with non-keyboard instruments occured some years ago, before reasonable electronic pianos were on the market, and when I was working and living in a situation where it wasn't practical to have a piano available.  Now that I'm beyond that, I sometimes experiment with other instruments out of novelty and curiousity, but I limit my serious playing to piano and organ.

The only ones that I am still descent at are piano, violin, guitar, bass and drums.

I ditched cello and trumpet a while ago.

Agreed.

I suck at cello and trumpet nowadays, I kind of wish that I could have kept them up.

However, after learning a few instruments, you can learn others pretty quickly.  If I wanted to get good at string bass during the summer, I could learn to play it well because I have learned to play the violin.

I can play guitar pretty decently.  Trying to learn more on it. Theoretically, I know how to play in all styles, but I just need to put in the time so I can really play them well.  Same for piano, too, but I've invested more time in it.
