Looking for something different
on: April 15, 2018, 02:36:00 PM
Current working on Liszt's Liebestraum 3 and am getting there, but have reached the stage where I need something else to work on besides it.

Was thinking of trying some Scriabin or similar, but am not that familiar with repertoire.

Any recommendations for something along those lines? Difficulty - would not want much harder than the Liszt, altho appreciate this is always pretty subjective.

Rachmaninov's prelude op.23 no.4 in D major

This is quite pretty and henle ranks it at around the same difficulty level as the Liebestraum, so I think it's doable (haven't played it myself yet though)
Learning:
Chopin etudes: 10/1, 10/2, 10/4
Messiaen vingt regards No.2
Beethoven sonata op.7
Schumann Abegg variations

maybe some Herea?
Marius' music is really appealing and though known In some circles,  it remains pretty underrated in most places
